Meals are included in the program fee; however, with the exception of when volunteers are taken out to dinner or are out on excursion (where meals are provided) they cook their own food. The program manager will purchase groceries on a weekly basis after discussion with the volunteers regarding the menu they would like for the week. As far as possible and within reason, we try to give volunteers exactly what they would like to eat. Volunteers do not pay for any meal, whether they are at the volunteer accommodation or out on excursion.

Nursing and home based care would be an advantage, but mostly just enthusiasm and a love of children and nature. The nature of work will vary from dealing with injured wildlife to feeding babies. Volunteers are expected to help in any capacity that they are able to. Duties range from household chores such as cleaning, to controlling breeding areas for butterflies. The most important requirement is a willingness to do anything. What you do not know, will be taught to you.
